(3) If of the garden type, be of a good commercial grade constructed of an inner rubber tube, plies of braided fabric reinforcement, and an outer cover of rubber or equivalent material, and of sufficient strength to withstand the maximum pressure that can be produced by the fire pump. All fittings on the hose must be of suitable corrosion-resistant material. Hose on vessel was a recreational vehicle hose. Install a commercial grade hose meeting specifications above.

(b) Gages to indicate cooling water discharge temperature and lubricating, oil pressure shall be provided for all propulsion engines and located so as to be in view of the operator. When engine is freshwater cooled and exhaust pipe is cooled by a separate water, cooling system, a suitable warning, visible or audible at the operating station, shall be provided to indicate any failure of water flow in the exhaust system. Lubricating oil gauge is inoperable as well as the RPM gauge for main diesel engine. Replace both in kind.
