During engine room inspection it was noted that there was excessive oil around the fuel oil purifiers as well as saturated lagging on the purifier piping. The excessive oil could pose a serious fire hazard. The vessel is to clean up the oil around purifiers and replace oil soaked lagging prior to departure.

Action required: 17 - Rectify deficiencies prior to departure
Resolved 6 June 2008
Resolution: Vessel replaced all oil soaked lagging and cleaned up all oil in Purifier room. Coast Guard PSC went on board and verified proper repairs and all oil was cleaned up properly. Vessel was cleared to depart Philadelphia.
