Each ship transporting more than six passengers for hire equipped with a radiotelephone station in accordance with Part III of Title III of the Communications Act must carry a radio operator who meets the following requirements: the radio operator must hold a marine radio operator permit or higher class license. Vessel does not have a radio operator. Provide evidence of Marine Radio Operator Permit to the USCG. 47CFR80.159(e)

A certification that the ship has passed an inspection must be entered into the ship's log by the inspecting technician. The technician conducting the inspection and providing the certification must not be the vessel's owner, operator, master, or employee or their affiliates. Additionally, the vessel owner, operator, or ship's master must certify in the station log that the inspection was satisfactory. Vessel's FCC Radiotelephony Inspection Certificate is expired. Provide valid certificate to the USCG. 47CFR80.59(a)(2)

On a vessel of at least 7.9 meters (26 feet) in length, a visual and audible alarm must be provided at the operating station to indicate a high water level in each of the following normally unmanned spaces:(1) A space with a through-hull fitting below the deepest load waterline, such as a lazarette;(2) A machinery space bilge, bilge well, shaft alley bilge, or other spaces subject to flooding from sea water piping within the space; and(3) A space with a non-watertight closure, such as a space with a non-watertight hatch on the main deck. A visual indicator must be provided at the operating station to indicate when any automatic bilge pump is operating. Bilge 1: High water level visual and audible alarm is non-functional. Does not have a visual indicator provided at the operating station to indicate when automatic bilge pump is operating. Bilge 2: Does not have a visual indicator provided at the operating station to indicate when automatic bilge pump is operating. Make permanent repairs to the satisfaction of the attending CG Marine Inspector. 46CFR182.530

At each inspection for certification and at every other vessel inspection all observed unsafe practices, fire hazards, and other hazardous situations must be corrected and all required guards and protective devices must be in satisfactory condition. Identified improperly secured swim platform attached to the exterior stern of the vessel. Properly secure swim platform. 46CFR176.830(a)

A suitable metal marine type strainer, meeting the requirements of the engine manufacturer, must be fitted in the fuel supply line in the engine compartment. Strainers must be leak free. Strainers must be the type of opening on top for cleaning screens. A drip pan fitted with flame screen must be installed under gasoline strainers. Fuel filter and strainer bowls must be highly resistant to shattering due to mechanical impact and resistant to failure due to thermal shock. Fuel filters fitted with bowls of other than steel construction must be approved by the Commandant and be protected from mechanical damage. Approval of bowls of other than steel construction will specify if a flame shield is required. Identified fuel system marine type strainer is not properly installed IAW MFR specifications. Install the fuel system marine type strainer assembly heat shield component to MFR requirements to meet ASTM F1201 specifications. 46CFR182.455(b)(6)

A visual and audible alarm must be provided at the operating station to indicate a high water level in a machinery space. Vessel has 2 bilge pumps, neither one has a working audible or visual alarm at the operating station. Operator shall provide plan for alternative means of checking bilge water levels. 46 CFR 182.530(a)

The water inlet valve for the toilet is frozen in the open position and the valve handle is missing. Temporarily fixed by blocking the inlet pipe at valve assembly. Make permanent repairs prior to using toilet.

Could not test engine shutdown of Fireboy system. Prove proper operation to the satisfaction of a Marine Inspector.

Port and starboard navigation lights do not display 112.5 arc of visibility.

Provide first aid kit that meets 46CFR160.041

Provide emergency broadcast placard for VHF radio.

Provide radio operator permits for masters.

Provide updated DAPI consortium for calendar year.

Provide current Coast Pilot [name withheld] and Tide Tables for navigation area.

Fireboy for engine compartment discharged during inspection. Provide proof of fully operational fire fighting system.

Both watertight hatches do not close. Prove proper operation.

Overboard valve for the Marine Sanitation Device is inoperable. Prover proper operation.

Support bracket IWO battery installation for grounding connections is wasted. Replace with new support.
