74 SOLAS (97) III/44.2.2 - Every totally enclosed lifeboat shall be provided with a rigid watertight enclosure which completely encloses the lifeboat. The enclosure shall be so arranged that: access to the lifeboat is provided by the hatches which can be closed to make the lifeboat watertight. PSCO observed three one inch cracks and bowing on hatch collar of starboard lifeboat. A fire hose pressure test proved the lifeboat to not be watertight.
Action required: 17 - Rectify deficiencies prior to departure

Resolution: ABS Work Order: 4120543. The three (3) cracks of one (1) inch each on the starboard lifeboat and associated hatch collar bowing were repaired by an external specialist recognized by ABS; the hatch was pressure tested with a fire hose, all SAT.

PSCO observed one 1 litter package of water leaking. Vessel does not have any spare, SOLAS approved packages of fresh water.
