Each ring lifebuoy on a vessel must be stowed in a way to be rapidly cast loose. Must be fitted with a lifeline. One floating waterlight securing around the body of the buoy. During inspection and MOB drill, life ring was tangled and floating water light was not connected. Vessel had three life rings, one with line, one with light (not connected) and line, and on with broken grab line.

Port bow 12" repair at gunnel cracked at bulwarks edge, and port aft engine room vent appears crushed, with cracks above the aft facing scoop turn. These cracks should be ground/rewelded by next drydock.
