At least two lifebuoys on a towing vessel greater than 26 feet must be fitted with a floating electric water light approved under approval series 161.010 or 161.110, unless the towing vessel is limited to daytime operation, in which case no floating electric water light is required. Vessel's ring buoy light battery was not a the manufacturers required type for light. Install manufacturer approved battery in light.

Each integral fuel tank must have a vent that connects to the highest point of the tank, discharges on a weather deck through a bend of 180 degrees, and is fitted with a 30-by-30-mesh corrosion-resistant flame screen. Flame screens for #4 & #5 fuel tank vents were found with large holes. Renew flame screens.

Submit plans to Marine Safety Center for addition of waste oil discharge line; waste oil line must be added by next drydock availability in April 2028.
