On ships carrying flammable or toxic products, a water spray system for cooling, fire prevention, and crew protection should be installed to cover the boundaries of the superstructure facing the cargo area. During testing of deck water spray, PSCO observed multiple clogged nozzles on port side of superstructed causing inadequate coverage. Must repair to satisfaction of CG.

All pipes, valves, nozzles, and other fittings in the deck water spray system should be resistant to corrosion by seawater. During testing of the deck water spray, PSCO observed hole in deck water spray line near #2 cargo pump on #1 tank top. Additionally PSCO observed 10+ completely clogged nozzles and 10+ partially clogged nozzles. Must fix to saftisfaction of CG.
