Propulsion machinery must be suitable in type and design for propulsion requirements of the hull in which it is installed and capable of operating at constant marine load under such requirements without exceeding its designed limitations. While underway with passengers the PORT prop and shaft be came entangled with a line. The vessel is not authorized to operate passengers until cleared by the local OCMI.

Vessel had a loss of propulsion on or about 24 August 2024 when a line fouled the port shaft and propeller and caused the engine to shutdown. Master cleared by diving on vessel after passengers disembarked by taking vessel out in Lake Michigan on one screw transiting the Chicago River and through the Chicago Lock. Advised master of requirements of reporting casualties.
