The 15 ppm Bilge Alarm should be so constructed that the alarm is always activated whenever clean water is used for cleaning or zeroing purposes. Ship is fitted with a BILGE MON 488, 15ppm bilge alarm that is MEPC 107(49) approved. Manufacturers installation requires the use of solenoid valves in conjunction with the sample and freshwater lines. Ship is currently using two manual valves.

0936-Steering Gear- All steering gear compenents and the rudder stock shall be of sound and reliable construction to the satisfaction of the administration. PSCO observed a 2-3 second delay to steering gear inputs from bridge. PSCO also observed that rudder continued to move in both directions after placed in neutral position when in NFU mode. 0628-Stowage of Liferafts-Each liferaft shall be stowed with a float-free assembly and inflates automatically when the ship sinks. PSCO observed the painter line attached directly to the liferaft cradle, preventing the proper operation of the float free device. SOLAS 74(14) III/13 10c
