A shutoff valve, installed so as to close against the fuel flow, shall be fitted in the fuel supply line to stop the fuel flow at the tank connection. Port side diesel fuel tank was leaking fuel at the emergency fuel shut off valve on the forward side of the tank. Vessel owner/operator stated that the fuel tank will be isolated from being used until fuel can be safely transferred out of the tank to conduct repairs. 46 CFR “OLD T” 182.20-35 (b)(3)
