The following spaces must be equipped with a fire detection system of an approved type installed IAW Part 76. Vessel is currently not equipped with an approved fire detection system. Plans have been accepted locally. Vessel owner/operator to have the approved fire detection system installed prior to target date of 01MAR26. O/O to ensure opportunity is provided to allow for system diagram walk-through prior to putting power to the panel. Final systems commissioning checks will be required to the satisfaction of the attending MI.

Vessel shall provide to this office, a scope of work detailing the system identified for purchase and a proposed installation plan. Coast Guard intends on reviewing the system chosen, work with the USACE on an agreed upon timeline for installation once the above scope is submitted.

A vessel of at least 26 feet in length must be provided with bilge lines and bilge suctions for each watertight compartment. During the bilge system test, the steering gear compartment was unable to gain prime and could not adequately demonstrate removal of nuisance water from the bilge. Follow-up attendance necessary.

A system protecting a manned space must be fitted with an approved time delay and alarm arranged to require the alarm to sound for at least 20 seconds or the time necessary to escape from the space. Servicing technician report stated the time delay (a 30 second unit) performed at 27 seconds below the rated performance standard and below the rated tolerance range of -0%. Replace or retest and submit documentation from the service tech attesting to meeting the minimum standard.

Provision must be made for closing all supply ducts cowls or scoops and exhaust duct discharge openings for a space protected by a fixed gas extinguishing system. Supply openings at the aft of the ships house had inadequate sealing due to improper fit & wasted or missing gasket material. Repair to the satisfaction of the attending MI.
