Marine Inspector discovered SAE J1527 rated fuel line lengths exceeding 30 inches on the port side. Must conduct the following:
-Evaluate all flexible fuel lines from the fuel tanks to the main engines.

b. All other flexible fuel line runs that are up to 30 inches may be rated at SAE J1527 (A1, A2, B1, B2).

Electrical equipment on a vessel must be installed and maintained to protect passengers, crew, other persons, and the vessel from electrical hazards, including fire, caused by or originating in electrical equipment, and electrical shock. Vessel has a non-marine grade, non-UL rated, inverter installed by the public address system. The inverter is not permanently installed and has an adapter that allows three devices to be plugged into its single outlet. The invertor shall be removed. If an invertor is required it shall be installed to the satisfaction of the attending USCG inspector and shall be of proper type. Additionally, an electrical line drawing is required to be submitted and approved by USCG marine inspector prior to installation.

Shutoff valves, installed so as to close against the fuel flow, mst be ftted in the fuel supply lines, one at the tank connection and one at the engine end of the fuel line to stop fuel flow when servicing accessories. The shutoff valve at the tank must be manually operable from outside the compartment in which the valve is located, perferably from an accessible position on the weather deck. If the handle to the shutoff valve at the tank is located inside the machinery space, it must be located so that the operator does not have to reach more than 300 milimeters (12 inches) into the machinery space and the valve handle must be shielded from flames by the same material the hull is constructed of, or some noncombustible material. Electric olenoid vlaves must not be used, unless used in addition to the manual valve. The vessel's port side emergency fuel shut is inoperable. Please make permenant repairs to the port side emergency fuel shut.
