SOLAS 74 (2014 CONS), CH V/19.2.2.2.2- All ships 150 GT and upwards shall be fitted with a daytime signalling lamp or other means to communicate by light during day and night not using a source of electrical power not soley dependent upon the ships power supply. The portable battery pack for the daytime signalling lamp will not hol a charge resulting in the lamp being inoperable.
