During the examination all accessible parts of the vessel's underwater body and all through hull fittings, including the hull plating and planking, appendages, propellers, shafts, bearings, rudders, sea chests, sea valves, and sea strainers shall be made available for examination.

It shall be permanently connected to the bilge main and may also be connected to the fire main. If of sufficient capacity the power bilge pump may also serve as a fire pump. Primary fixed bilge pump was found inoperable and unable to de-water any compartment. Demonstrate proper operation of bilge pump for de-watering all compartments to attending Marine Inspector.

Electric lighting and power cable shall not be allowed to carry a continuous current in excess of the or maximum current capacities listed in Tables 183.10-20(c)(1) and (2); minimum conductor size is 14 American Wire Gauge (AWG). In multiple areas of the vessel undersized wires/cables were found for both A/C and D/C circuits. Locations include: (Port) forward area by mini fridge, on forward bulkhead of drink storage room, midship space under deck, (STBD) midship space under deck, electrical panel room aft bulkhead and from distribution panels. All wiring powering systems over 50volts shall be atleast 14AWG and of an approved type for marine use.

In addition, Flexible or portable cords such as SO, STO, and similar types cannot be used for permanently installed wiring. Portable cords were found extending the electrical circuits throughout the vessel; locations include: drink storage room, entrance to drink storage room, under bar area, in electrical panel closet. All portable cords shall be discontinued that are being used in permanent installations to extend the circuit.
