A drydock examination conducted in compliance with § 176.600 must be conducted while the vessel is hauled out of the water or placed in a drydock or slipway. During the examination all accessible parts of the vessel's underwater body and all through hull fittings, including the hull plating and planking, appendages, propellers, shafts, bearings, rudders, sea chests, sea valves, and sea strainers shall be made available for examination. Sea chests, sea valves, and sea strainers must be opened for examination. Vessel was found to have holes in bottom plate, sideshell and several other wasted areas. Repairs are to be made to the satisfactory of the attending OCMI.

A vessel must be provided with a satisfactory arrangement for draining any watertight compartment, other than small buoyancy compartments, under all practicable conditions.
Vessel is fitted with a fixed bilge system. Marine Inspectors requested a demonstration of the system forward of the collision bulkhead. vessel was unable to remove any water using the installed fixed system. Repairs are to be made to the satisfaction of a USCG Marine Inspector.

A hatch exposed to the weather must be watertight.
Marine Inspectors observed that the emergency escape scuttle leading from the accommodation space below deck up to the bulkhead deck was not able to completely lock into place. The "T" handle did not seat back into the recessed pocket. Provide a corrective action to ensure the locking mechanism works as designed.

The lamp in the steering/generator space leading to the escape hatch was non operational under both primary and back up power. Lamp is to be replaced or repair to the satisfaction of a USCG Marine Inspector.

A hatch exposed to the weather must be watertight. Upon inpsection, the watertight hatch leading to the cargo deck from the accomodation space was reported to leak when dogged down. The engineroom hatch was also in a substandard condition. Repair accomodation and engineroom hatch covers to the satisfaction of the attending marine inspector.
