SHEAR WATER

The shutoff valve at the tank must be manually operable from outside the compartment in which the valve is located. Remote shutoff valve cable is cut and does not shut the valve from outside the space.

The owner or operator of a vessel carrying overnight passengers shall have a suitable number of watchmen patrol throughout the vessel during night time. The monitoring device must: Ensure the wakefulness of the crew in the event that a watchman required is unresponsive. Key to operate watch monitoring system was lost and system cannot be operated. Prove proper operation of system prior to carrying overnight passengers.

Each survival craft must be: secured to the vessel by a painter with a float-free link permanently attached to the vessel. The link must be certified to meet 46 CFR 160.073. Link found broken.

A visual indicator must be provided at the operating station to indicate when any automatic bilge pump is operating. Laz pump indicator is inoperable.

As appropriate for the intended voyage, a vessel must carry adequate and up-to-date: Tides tables: and Current tables. Publications missing.

Repairs or alterations to the hull or equipment that affect the safety of the vessel must not be made witout the approval of the OCMI. Found a total of 10 deck beams in the E/R with improper repairs. Make repairs to the satisfaction of attending Marine Inspector by 23FEB2025.

A person in command of a documented vessel must have on board that vessel the original Certificate of Documentation currently in effect for that vessel. COD on board is expired.

A vessel of more than 26 feet, but not more than 65 feet must carry a minimum of one life buoy of not less than 24 inches. Life buoy on board is unserviceable. Replace.

The provisions of Part III of Title III of the Communication Act require vessels carry a radiotelephone installation complying with this subpart. FCC Radiotelephony Certificate not on board. Vessel restricted to not more than 1000 feet from shore. 47 CFR 80.901

All mattresses must comply with U.S. Department of Commerce or IMO Resolution A.688(17). Provide documentation that mattresses meet standards. Def changed from 701 to 705 with due date of 01AUG23. See Act# 7740459 for details. Def changed back to 701 on 01AUG23. See Act# 7740459.

On a vessel of at least 26' a visual/audio alarm must be provided at the operating station. LAZ bilge alarm INOP. Repair by 21JUL2023.

Renewal of a COI shall include and inspection of structure. The inspection shall be such to insure the vessel is in satisfactory condition. Found 03 deck beams in E/R with with severe angel hair. Clean beams for further inspection. Clean by 21JUL2023. 46 CFR 176.05-10

A vessel must carry one floating waterlight. Life ring and life float water lights are INOP. Vessel restricted to day time operations.

A submersible electric bilge pump may be used provided that the pump is permanently mounted. All electric bilge pumps not permanently mounted.

A vessel must carry adequate and up-to-date charts and pubs. Charts, Coast Pilot and Light List are outdated.

All electrical installations shall be to the satisfaction of the [name withheld] the following items: 1) Replaced blade fuses in E/R with UL listed cartridge fuses. 2) Remove dead end wire next to polisher pump or install in J-box. 3) Remove dead end wire next to high amp start switch or install in J-box. 4) Permanently mount A/C water pump. 5) Permanently mount fresh water accumulator tank and pump. 6) Repair wire connections to fresh water accumulator tank. 7) Properly secure wires for transducer in E/R stbd side. 8) Repair wire connections to hot water tank. 9) Repair wire connections to high press pump J-box. 10) Remove all wing nuts from battery terminals. 11) Remount light in LAZ. 46 CFR 183.01-15

Vessel must submit plans to the cognizant OCMI for the installation and use of monitoring device to ensure the wakefulness of the watchmen. Vessel not fitted with watch monitor equipment, submit electrical drawing and plan with layout of equipment to OCMI for approval. Install equipment by 14OCT2023.

Vessel must have and interconnected fire/alarm detection system in compliance with 46 CFR 181.450 installed in all enclosed areas where passengers and crew have routine access including accommodation and machinery spaces. Install equipment by 14OCT2023. 46 CFR 181.405

Life float has excessive cracking throughout and is in a non-serviceable condition. Life float to be replaced in kind or with an IBA to accomodate at least 67% of the total persons allowed. 46 CFR 180.202
