Vessel report a hole was discovered in the hull plating and subsequently patched. Further examination of the surrounding area revealed multiple points exhibiting approximately 50 percent wastage. The degraded section measured roughly 8' x 5' Due to the extent of structural deterioration, the affected hull plating requires a crop and renewal. 46 CFR 116.100 (a)
