Each personal flotation device must have at least 200 sq. cm. (31 sq. in.) of retroreflective material attached on its front side and at least 200 sq. cm. on its back side. At each inspection for certification and periodic inspection and at such other times as considered necessary, all fire extinguishing equipment must be inspected to ensure it is in suitable condition. Tests may be necessary to determine the condition of the equipment. The inspector must verify that the following tests and inspections have been conducted by a qualified servicing facility at least once every 12 months. Noted the CO2 cylinder and time delay are due for testing in 2023. Provide supporting documentation to extend annual servicing of fire system until November 2023 yard period. Prior to the expiration of the certificate of inspection a request for renewal of the sailing school vessel designation must be submitted in the same manner as described in 46 CFR 169.218; the subject matter request has not been submitted.

The master shall conduct a fire and boat drill within 24 hours of leaving a port if 25 percent of the crew have been replaced; the subject matter drills must be conducted in the presence of a Marine Inspector prior to departing Wilmington, NC.
