The machinery, boilers, other pressure vessles, associated piping and fittings shall be of a desgin and constructed adequate for the service for which they are intended. The drain piping on the purifiers that draines into the sludge tank is spraying excessive oil casuing a heavy accumulation of oil in the associated areas around the purifiers.

All life saving appliances shall be in working order and ready for immediate use, during PSC examination, crew attempted to test outboard rescue boat engine without water. PSC team requested the engine be tested using water to ensure proper operation. The crew installed a drum and started the engine, no water was observed coming from the cooling port, which is an indication of impeller damage.
