Sampling performed under the authority of the Alaska Department of [name withheld] indicates the installed MSD is not operable as fecal coliform colonies are on the order of magnitude of untreated sewage. Until such time as vessel is able to demonstrate to the Coast Guard the proper operation of the MSD, the vessel is prohibited from discharging sewage, treated or untreated, into the navigable waters of the United States. The vessel must retain onboard and/or discharge to shore facilities until such time as the Coast Guard removes this restriction. - 33 CFR 159.7(a)(1)

The fuse that was installed was inside the pilot house panel and was installed in a configuration that did not match the drawing submitted to MSC. The system must be modified to locate the fuses as close as practicable to the batteries, match the configuration in the system drawing, and include fuses that meet 46 CFR 120.380(l).
