The floating waterlight must be attached around the body of the life float or buoyant apparatus by a 10 mm (3/8 inch) lanyard, resistant to deterioration from ultraviolet light, and at least 5.5 meters (18 feet) in length. Remove line on lights and add 18' line.

Each watertight bulkhead must be of sufficient strength to be capable of remaining watertight with a head of water to the top of the bulkhead. Clean bulkhead in way of wet spot inside engine room entrance and test. Crop and renew as original if needed.

A vessel of at least 7.9 meters (26 feet) in length must be provided with individual bilge lines and bilge suctions for each watertight compartment. Multiple pipes on the system were found to have patches or wastage. Crop and renew as original.

A space containing diesel machinery must be fitted with adequate means such as dripproof ventilators, ducts, or louvers, to provide sufficient air for proper operation of main engines and auxiliary engines. 1 vent cover was warped. Repair/replace as original.

The inspections and tests shall insure that the equipment and associated structure are in satisfactory operating conditions and fit for the service for which they are intended. The fire monitor piping prior to reaching the nozzle was leaking. Crop and renew.

Each hatch exposed to the weather must be watertight, except that the following hatches may be weathertight:(1)each hatch on a watertight trunk that extends at least 12 inches above the weather deck. The aft controlling station has an exposed hole on the side that is not watertight. Repair to restore weathertight integrity.

Other Alarms- Vessels described in 46 CFR 175.110 (d) must submit plans to the cognizant OCMI for the installation and use of monitoring device to ensure the wakefulness of the watchman required by paragraph (a). The Coast Guard will work with the vessel implementation schedule once the plans are accepted. The device must (1)ensure the wakefulness of the crew in the event the watchman is unresponsive.(2)remain operable during the nighttime watch and (3)be arranged to ensure proper coverage of the passenger accommodations spaces, common areas and spaces with potential fire hazards. Vessel is restricted from carrying overnight passengers until an approved system is installed to the satisfaction of the attending marine inspector. 46 CFR 185.410 (b)

Fire safety - Vessels described by 46 CFR 175.110 (c) must have an interconnected fire detection system in compliance with 46 CFR 181.450 installed in all enclosed areas where passengers and crew have routine access including accommodation spaces and machinery spaces. Vessel has not installed the fire detection system as required. System must be approved by cognizant OCMI and inspected after installation by USCG Marine Inspector. 46 CFR 181.405 (c)

Propulsion machinery must be suitable in type and design for propulsion requirements of the hull in which it is installed and capable of operating at a constant marine load under such requirements without exceeding its design limitations. While transiting to Port Aransas the vessel experienced a loss of lube oil pressure in the STBD MDE, vessel was en-route to repair a damaged blower on the Port MDE. Vessel was dead in the water requiring tow. Vessel will be towed to [name withheld] for repairs and may not depart until repaired to the satisfaction of the attending Marine Inspector. 46 CFR 182.200 Old T cite 46 CFR 182.05-1

Repair/replace all leaking valves in bilge line.

Repair leaking fitting on aft steering pump.

Replace all faded and fraying lines on all 3 life floats.

Peform satisfactory fire and abandon ship drills.

Open forward hatch to fore-peak space and make available for inspection.

Repair emergency escape hatch in engine room and ensure it opens properly.

Remove extension cord in engine room for the port shaft pump and make permanent connection.

Remove extension cords in galley by the freezers and underneath the television and make permanent connections.

Tighten packing gland on port and starboard shafts to stop ingress of water.

Replace 3 life jackets where retro-reflective tape was painted over. Total persons allowed on vessel reduced to 33 until new life jackets are purchased.

Replace lines on port and starboard bridge life rings.

Ensure GPS is connected to the radio with DSC. 47 CFR 80.905.
