When inspecting oil-burning vessels, either internal-combustion type or steam-driven type, the marine inspector shall examine the tank tops and bilges in the fire room and engine room to see that there is no accumulation of oil which might create a fire hazard. Saturated sorbent pads and pooled hydraulic oil were noted in the hydraulic machinery space.
