Vessel experienced a break to the starboard shaft in vicinity of the gear box to the main engine while transiting outbound of San Diego Bay. Prior to carrying passengers, the vessel operator must: conduct a full damage assessment of all shaft components (struts, cutless bearings, propeller) replace starboard shaft in kind, replace any damage shaft components and have a USCG Marine Inspector verify installation of new shaft and condition of all shaft components.
