On a vessel of not more than 65 feet in length carrying more than 49 passengers, each hose must have fittings of brass or other suitable corrosion resistant materials that comply with NFPA 1963. MI observed vessel with plastic firefighting nozzles. Replace current plastic nozzle with brass, bronze or corrosion resistant materials complying with NFPA standards.

On a vessel of not more than 65 feet in length carrying more than 49 passengers each hose must be lined commercial fire hose that conforms to UL 19. MI observed fire hose was not UL 19 rated. Replace existing firehose with UL 19 rated hose.

As appropriate for the intended voyage, a vessel must carry adequate and up-to-date, U.S. Coast Pilot [name withheld] List. MI observed vessel's Coast Pilot and Light Listed have not been updated since 2020, and 2021 respectively. Replace required nautical publications with up-to-date versions.

A vessel must have one or more ring life buoys be orange in color. Marine Inspector observed life ring faded beyond orange color.

At each inspection for certification and at every other vessel inspection all observed unsafe practices, fire hazards, and other hazardous situations must be corrected and all required guards and protective devices must be in satisfactory condition. Marine Inspector observed no guard protection on rotating shafts.

On a vessel of not more than 19.8 meters (65 feet) in length carrying more than 49 passengers, and on a vessel of more than 19.8 meters (65 feet) in length, the minimum capacity of the fire pump must be 189 liters (50 gallons) per minute at a pressure of not less than 414 kPa (60 psi) at the pump outlet. The pump outlet must be fitted with a pressure gauge Marine Inspector observed fire pump gauge was inop.

Marine Inspector observed one electric bilge pump was inoperable to to being disconnected from power.

Marine Inspector observed no oil pollution placard posted.

Marine Inspector observed significant patching on the aluminum sewage tank.

46 CFR 177.960. An exposed hazard, such as gears or rotating machinery, must be properly protected by a cover, guard, or rail. MI Observed the vessel did no thave protective covers for both shafts and protective covers for both engines rotating belts/pulleys.

§ 184.420 Charts and nautical publications. (a) As appropriate for the intended voyage, a vessel must carry adequate and up-to-date: (1) Charts of large enough scale to make safe navigation possible MI Observed vessel didnot have up-to-date charts for appropriate intended voyage.

46 CFR 180.70 Ring life buoys: A vessel must have one or more ring life buoys as follows:(c) At least one ring life buoy must be fitted with a lifeline. If more than one ring life buoy is carried, at least one must not have a lifeline attached. Each lifeline on a ring life buoy must: (1) Be buoyant; (2) Be of at least 18.3 meters (60 feet) in length; (3) Be non-kinking; (4) Have a diameter of at least 7.9 millimeters ( 5/16 inch); (5) Have a breaking strength of at least 5 kilonewtons (1,124 pounds); and (6) Be of a dark color if synthetic, or of a type certified to be resistant to deterioration from ultraviolet light. MI observed the vessel did not have a 60ft of life line for assigned life bouy.

At each initial and subsequent inspection for certification the marine inspector shall examine and test the main and auxiliary steering apparatus to the extent necessary to determine that its condition is satisfactory and that it is fit for the service intended. Portside steering ram mount is fractured. Vessel is to repair steering mount to the satisfaction of the attending marine inspector. 46CFR176.25-35

Vessel experienced partial loss of propulsion to stbd engine. Vessel must be provided with an auxiliary means of steering. Vessel must prove proper operation of propulsion and steering systems.

#3 void and lazerette hatches were unable to secure properly and create a watertight seal.

Line between life floats and life float water lights were deteriorated and unserviceable.

Conduct a Satisfactory renewal Certificate of Inspection.

Replace STBD Flex hose on MSD Tank.

Treat wood on floor aft of the STBD engine.

Repair port MDE exhaust leak and clean and treat wood in surrounding area.

Replace identified hydraulic line on starboard generator.

Make permanent repoairs to topside ladder rail and ensure it can withstand a point load of 200 pound and uniform load of 50 pounds per foot.

Repair identified railing weak points and tighten connections.

Replace 02 identified ball valves.

Provide current marine charts for navigation.

Provide two 100FT replacement painter lines for vessel's lifefloats.

Replace line connecting the float light to the life float in accordance with 46 CFR 160.010-8

Provide seperations for life floats as per 46 CFR 180.137(f)

Properly mark life jacket storage as per 46 CFR 185.604(b)
