Adequate emergency lighting automatically actuated upon failure of the main lighting system shall be fitted along the means of escape.
The vessel's emergency lights were routed through a single manual switch that controlled both generator and battery feeds. As a result, when the generator failed, the battery circuit couldn't engage and the lights didn't actuate automatically. Restricted to daylight operations until the deficiency is rectified.
