1299-Load lines-The rings, lines, and letters shall be painted in white or yellow on a dark ground or in black on a light ground. They shall also be permanently marked on the sides of the ship to the satisfaction of the administration. (Unified interpretation-Permanently marked is considered to include welding of the marks on the sides of the ship...) Vessel currently has two load lines painted on the side of the ship one is black and not welded and the other is white and welded. Vessels crew stated the higher of the two which is black and not welded is the correct load line, load line must meet the ILLC Reg 8 and only one should be painted to contrast. Correct load line should be welded to meet unified interpretation. ILLC Annex I/8. 40 a.c.

Each survival craft shall be stowed fully equipped by this chapter and the Code. Every lifeboat shall have at lease one food ration equal to 10,000 KJ for each person the lifeboat is certified to carry. Lifeboats contained a total of 59 total rations remaining in good condition. 70 total airtight rations required. 11 rations found not air tight.
