A crack was identified in the hull gel coat with water weeping approximately 1 inch above the keel on the port side below the transducer. Grind the gel coat back and prepare the area for further inspection.

Whenever damage or deterioration to hull plating or structural members that may affect the seaworthiness of a vessel is discovered or suspected, the cognizant OCMI may conduct an internal structural examination in any affected space...and may require the vsl to be dry docked to assess the extent of the damage. Found wood rot on a starboard bottom plank located in the forward compartment, in way of the previously plugged through-hull fitting. Vessel is directed to submit a repair proposal to adequately address noted rot to the satisfaction of the attending CGMI during winter haul out period of 2022-2023, no later than March 01, 2023.
