The material, design, construction, workmanship, and arrangement of main propulsion machinery must be at least equivalent to the standards established by the ABS Marine Vessel Rules. Vessel operator reported that the vessel experienced a overspeed alarm on the B-main which resulted in a loss of propulsion. Effective repairs to the satisfaction of the Coast Guard, IAW manufacturer specifications.
