"Each child life size jacket must be stowed in a location that is... separated from adult life jackets." The child life jackets on board were not separated from the adult life jackets. Separate the different life jackets. 46 CFR 180.78(a)(5)

"Each... ring life buoy must be marked in clearly legible block capital letters with the vessel's name." The writing on the ring life buoy on board was not legible. Ensure writing is legible. 46 CFR 185.604(b)

"A vessel must carry either a first-aid kit that meets the requirements in 46 CFR 199.175(b)(10) or a kit with equivalent contents and instructions." Vessel did not have the appropriate First Aid Kit; several items inside were expired. Ensure First Aid Kit has appropriate items.

"Each ring buoy must have the following information in waterproof lettering:Type IV Personal Flotation Device. Inspected and tested in accordance with U.S. Coast Guard regulations. (Name of buoyant material) buoyant material provides a minimum buoyant force of (32 lb. or 161/2 lb. Approved for use on recreational boats only as a throwable device. U.S. Coast Guard Approval No. 160.050/(assigned manufacturer's No.)/(Revision No.); (Model No.). (Name and address of manufacturer or distributor). (Size). USCG (Marine Inspection Office identification letters). (Lot No.)." The above information was not found on ring life buoy. Ensure information is provided.

"Remote fuel shutoff stations must be marked in clearly legible letters at least 25 millimeters (1 inch) high indicating purpose of the valve and direction of operation." The label for remote shutoff was unclear. Ensure labeling is clear.

"All machinery and equipment must be installed and maintained in such a manner as to afford adequate protection from causing fire, explosion, machinery failure, and personnel injury." Vessel was missing a machinery guard for its engine.

A vessel may not be operated without having on board a valid U.S. Coast Guard Certificate of Inspection. Vessel's COI expired on 4/25/2018 and shall complete required COI inspection prior to carrying passengers.
