The capacity of the generating sets shall be sufficient to carry the necessary sea load under normal operation with any one generating set in reserve. The vessel's superintendent has reported that the ship's starboard service generator is inoperable due to damaged components in the armature end. Effect proper repairs to the damaged generator to the satisfaction of an attending CG Marine Inspector, including technician's diagnosis & recommended repair prescription(s). Alternatively, provide a proposal for replacing the generator to USCG MSD Lewes for approval. PRIOR TO SAILING. 46 CFR 111.10-1(b)(1) [OLD J].
