An adult life jacket must be provided for each person carried on board a vessel. 10 life jackets were found in a non-serviceable condition, but the vessel was carrying 06 life jackets in excess. Replace 04 life jackets on board. Vsl limited to a maximum of 23 total persons until deficiency rectified to the satisfaction of the marine inspector.

Each ring life buoy with a floating waterlight must have a lanyard of at least 910 millimeters (3 feet) in length, but not more than 1,830 millimeters (6 feet), securing the waterlight around the body of the ring life buoy. The lanyard and the ring life buoy grab line was deteriorated. Replace lanyard and grab line to the satisfaction of the marine inspector.

The discharge ends of fuel tank vent pipes must be fitted with removable flame screens or flame arresters consisting of a single screen of corrosion resistant wire of at least 30 × 30 mesh. The flame screens were not the correct mesh size. Replace flame screens to the satisfaction of the marine inspector.
