Machinery must be suitable in type and design for the purpose intended. 02199 - Immediately after addressing of resultant safety concerns, the owner, agent, master, operator, or person in charge, shall notify the nearest Sector Office, Marine Inspection Office, or Coast Guard Group Office whenever a vessel is involved in a marine casualty consisting in: an unintended grounding. It was reported anonymously to the Sector Command Center that the vessel went aground around 1700 on March 4, 2025. It was confirmed by the vessel Captain that the vessel did touch bottom while attempting to moor. The reporting party stated the vessel was aground for approximately 30 minutes putting large amounts of strain on both the vessel engines and the hull. Coast Guard marine inspectors must attend the vessel prior to movement to verify whether damage occured during the grounding.

Except as otherwise provided for in this section, the requirements are applicable to the following fluid power and controls: steering apparatus, main and auxiliary, including bow thruster system. Find source of failure in bow thruster, submit repair proposal and repair to the satisfaction of to the attending marine inspector at next dry dock. 46 CFR 58.30-1(a)(1)

Provide remote WTD closure indicator for engine room.

Provide door closures for B-Class fire door leading to engine room and remove hold backs.

HYDROSTATICALLY TEST NITROGEN BOTTLE IN ENGINEROOM FOR EMERGENCY START OF STARBOARD GENERATOR.

PROVIDE FIRE SERVICE REPORT FOR PAINT LOCKER FIXED CO2 SYSTEM.
