Tail shafts with oil lubricated bearings, need not be drawn for examination, if an analysis of the tail shaft bearing lubricant shows no presence of contaminants. The tail shafts will need to be pulled due to the questionable oil analysis readings (see reports from Triblogik dates 01 Augaust 2022). In consideration of the availability of parts, and letter from Defense Maritime Solutions (Wartsila) dated 13DEC22, agreeing that the extension is reasonable to continue operation, the inspection of the shafts maybe extended till 01 May 2023.
