The owner or managing operator must provide satisfactory evidence of the required servicing to the marine inspector. If any of the equipment or records have not been properly maintained, a qualified servicing facility must perform the required inspections, maintenance procedures, and hydrostatic pressure tests. A tag issued by a qualified servicing organization, and attached to each extinguisher, may be accepted as evidence that the necessary maintenance procedures have been conducted. Vessel fixed and portable fire extinguishers past due for service. Prior to carriage of passengers, all required fixed and portable fire extinguishers must be serviced. 46 CFR 176.810(b)(4)

ach vessel certificated to operated on a coastwise route must have on board a FCC Type Accepted Category 1 406 MHz EPIRB, installed to automatically float free and activate. Vessel's 406 EPRIB Hydrostatic Release Unit (HRU) is expired. A valid HRU must be on board to operate coastwise. Vessel may continue to operate on a Lakes, Bays, and Sound Route until deficiency is rectified. 46 CFR 180.204(d)

Abandon ship, man overboard, and fire fighting drills and training shall be logged or otherwise documented for review by the Coast Guard upon request. The drill entry shall include the following information: (1) Date of the drill and training; and (2) General description of the drill scenario and training topics. 46 CFR 185.520 & .524

Each item of survival craft equipment must be of good quality, and efficient for the purpose it is intended to serve. Line must also be of a dark color if synthetic, or of a type certified to be resistant to deterioration from ultraviolet light. Starboard top life float is required to be renewed or restored as original due to deterioration. Life float line has deteriorated due to excessive ultraviolet light exposure and the loops affixing the grab-line have also deteriorated. To extend the life of life floats, it is recommended that the life floats be covered while the vessel is not in use. 46 CFR 180.175

Replace port rudder post bearing

All vessels shall be provided with a satisfactory arrangement for draining a watertight compartment. 3 out of 4 check valves for de-watering the vessels spaces are not functioning correctly.

Each ring life buoy must be of an approved type and may be used if it is in good and serviceable condition. Port side life buoy needs to be replaced and starboard side life buoy needs to have it's line replaced.

Each life float shall be fitted with a life line and shall be equipped with two paddles, a water light and a painter. Port side, 12-person life float needs to be replaced.

Batteries shall be located as high above the bilge as practicable and secured against shifting with motion of the boat . Battery Terminals were found to be loose in the E/R.

An ammeter that is readily visible shall be included in the battery charging circuit. 01 battery chargers were found to be missing an ammeter in the E/R.

As appropriate for the intended voyage, all vessels must carry adequate and up-to-date charts, sailing directions, coast pilots, light lists, notice to mariners, tide tables, current tables, and all other required nautical publications. Vessel did not have any of the required publications onboard.

All exhaust installations with pressures in excess of 15 pounds per square inch gage or employing runs passing through living or working spaces shall meet the requirements of sub chapter F (marine engineering). Port Engine exhaust tubing was found to be of an unauthorized material.

Exhaust piping shall be gastight throughout its length and shall be properly supported by non-combustible hangers or blocks. In the lazarette, one of the exhaust pipes near the forward bulkhead was found with a broken band clamp.

Chemical testing of personnel must be conducted as required by this subpart and in accordance with procedures detailed in 49 CFR part 40. Vessel needs to have testing strips on boarding.

Remove slag/rust on all frames in the lazarette and prep for further inspection by Coast Guard Marine Inspector.

Fixed fire extinguishing system must be inspected by a servicing facility. 46 CFR 176.810(b)(2). PTCP

Life floats must be repaired using a manufacturer approved repair kit. CG MIs observed several areas on life floats that needed to be repaired. Repairs are due prior to credit drydock.

All wire connections must be made within a watertight junction box. Wiring for vessels submersible bilge pump located in the lazarette space must be put into a watertight junction box. 46 CFR 183.10-20(f)(3). Due prior to credit drydock.

Forward hatch must be made watertight. 46 CFR 179.360(a). Due prior to credit drydock.

Vessel has numerous soft patches in the fire main line. Vessel must replace all soft patches with rigid pipe. It is recommended that all metallic components are of similar type to avoid corrosion. 46CFR182.710

Vessel's electrical distribution ground detection amp meter is not operational. Vessel must repair or replace and prove proper operation to a Coast Guard Marine Inspector. 46CFR183.320 (2)(c).

Vessel's eye wash solution is expired. Replace eye wash with new. 46CFR160.041-4(b)

Remove dead end wires in AC fan room

Replace wire nut splice with proper fittigns

Replace gasket to forward deck hatch

Crop and renew starboard bulkhead in way of engine exhaust to good metal

Replace missing forward bilge strainer

Crop and renew port and renew port and starboard rudder post

Replace leaking raw water valve.
