74SOLAS II-2/14.2.1.2: Fire-fighting systems and appliances shall be kept in good working order and readily available for immediate use. Vessel notified Sector Puget Sound, Port State Control, that there was an issue with their CO2 system onboard. The vessel reported there is not enough CO2 on board to cover all the necessary areas leaving CO2 unable to extinguish fire and not ready for immediate use.
Action required: 17 - Rectify deficiencies prior to departure

PSCO IDENTIFIED SOFT PATCH ON THE HIGH PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE LINE FOR THE LOW PRESSURE CO2 SYSTEM.

Action required: 40 - Rectify deficiencies prior to next US port after sailing foreign
Resolved 23 October 2018
Resolution: Received DNV GL class report stating that the CO2 system release pipe (low pressure) was repaired by removing the pipe coupling and welding the pipe together. Liquid penetrant test was done and no cracks was detected.
