Electrical equipment must be installed and maintained to minimize accidental personnel contact contact and prevent electrical ignition of flammable vapors. Must correct the following to satisfaction of USCG: -Electrical switch box on bulkhead in the port side engine space not properly sealed. -Overhead lighting in starboard side engine space not properly mounted.

At each initial and subsequent inspection for certification of a vessel, the owner or managing operator shall be prepared to conduct tests and have the vessel ready for inspection of lifesaving equipment and systems, including the following: Inspection of each hydrostatic release unit to determine that it is in compliance with the servicing and usage requirements of 185.740 of this chapter. Hydrostatic release for the life raft is expired. Install new hydrostatic release. Passenger reduction to 12 total persons, 10 pax and 2 crew on a coastwise or oceans route.

A vessel that is exposed to salt water more than 3 months in any 12 month period since the last examination must undergo a drydock examination and an internal structural at least once every two years. Vessel missed drydock due date. Until a satisfactory drydock exam is completed, vessel cannot operate in commercial passenger carrying service.

Vessels operated beyond the 20 nautical mile limitation specified in paragraph (a)(1) of this section, but not more than 100 nautical miles from the nearest land, must be equipped with a MF-DSC frequency transmitter meeting the requirements of § 80.1101(c)(3) and capable of transmitting J3E emission and a receiver capable of reception of J3E emission within the band 1710 to 2850 kHz, in addition to the VHF-DSC radiotelephone installation required by paragraph (a)(1) of this section. Onboard MF transmitter does not have MF-DSC function. Vessel is restricted to operating less than 20 nautical miles until MF-DSC frequency transmitter is installed in vessel.

Licensees of radio stations are required to have current station documents as indicated in the following table: Communications Act Safety Certificate. Vessel did not have MF inspection as required for the Oceans route in the safety certificate. Vessel is restricted to operating less than 20 nutical miles until MF-DSC frequency transmitter is installed in vessel and has required FCC inspection.

To enhance protection of life and property it is mandatory that each 406.0-406.1 MHz EPIRB be registered with NOAA before installation and that information be kept up-to-date. The EPIRB registration was not available on board to verify current EPIRB on board is correctly registered to the vessel. 47CFR80.1061(f)

Battery terminals shall be of the soldered type and all connections shall be made to the battery terminals with permanent type connectors. Spring clips or other temporary type clamps are not permitted. 46 CFR 183.05-20(c)

Each survival craft must be stowed so that when the vessel sinks the survival craft floats free and, if inflatable, inflates automatically. Vessel's survival craft was missing a shackle connecting the hydrostatic release and weak link to the deck.

The float free link required by 180.130(a)(1) must be: of proper strength for the size of the life float or buoyant apparatus as indicated on its identification tag; Float free link is missing identification tag. Replace float free link. 46 CFR 180.137(a)(2)

The float free link required by 180.130(a)(1) must be: secured to the mpainter at one end and to the vessel on the other end; vessel float free link was not attached to the vessel. Attach float free link to vessel. 46 CFR 180.137(a)(3)

A vessel must carry one floating waterlight unless it is limited to daytime operations; Light battery is expired. replace battery. 46 CFR 180.70(d)

A pre-engineered fixed gas fire extinguishing system must automatically shutdown all engines that draw intake air from within the protected space. Demonstrate that system will shutdown generator. Vessel restricted from using generator while passengers are on board.

Crew training shall be logged for review by the USCG upon request. Provide log of safety drills.

The master of the vessel shall ensure the EPIRB is tested monthly and each test is logged or documented. Provide log of monthly EPIRB tests.

A vessel must comply with applicable requirements for any radio installations as set forth in 47CFR80. VHF-DSC shall be programmed with MMSI and integrated with GPS.

Placard containing instructions for donning of PFDs must be posted. Provide and post donning placards for all types of PFDs on vessel.

Lifefloat unservicable

First aid kit expired.

Vessel did not maintaint proper vessel logs.

Vessel is overdue for hull/ISE as of 31 Dec 16.
