If divers are utilized to conduct the underwater survey as part of the examination process, Alternate Hull Examinations (AHEs) must be performed twice within every five-year period, with no more than three years allowed between any two AHEs. This required three-year interval was exceeded on May 8, 2025. You must provide our office, Officer in Charge, Marine Inspection (OCMI), with a written hull examination report to include: thickness gauging results, bearing clearances, a copy of audio and video recordings, and any other information that will help the OCMI evaluate your vessel for a credit hull exam. This report must be signed by the third party examiner and confirm the validity of its contents.
