Numerous type 1 life jackets were found not ready for immediate use as the adjustment strap D rings were corroded and seized in place not allowing for adjustment by passengers. The floating water-light must be attached around the body of the life float by a 10 mm (3/8 inch) lanyard resistant to deterioration from ultraviolet light, and at least 5.5 meters (18 feet) in length. Provide lanyards that are at least 18 feet for each life float water-light and to the specifications mentioned above.
