MI observed wasted pilot house door hinges, holed exterior bulkhead forward of pilot house door, PORT aft and STBD Fwd E/R bulkhead penetrations need filled, decking in PAX cabin wasted. 46CFR176.610(a).

MI found vessel to only have two buckets. Vessel provided an additional one.

At each initial and subsequent inspection for certification the owner or managing operator shall be prepared to test the steering system of the vessel and make them available for inspection to the extent necessary to determine that they are in suitable condition and fit for the service intended. MI discovered the steering ram pedestal secured by a single bolt with no securing nut, causing excessive play of the ram. Properly secure the ram to the satisfaction of the attending MI. 46 CFR 176.814

Flexible hose runs must be visible, easily accessible, protected from mechanical damage. MI observed unapproved flexible nonmetallic hose on generator with chaffing on bottom-side. In addition, MI observed damage to fuel hose due to chaffing on port engine. Problem must be rectified to the satisfaction of the USCG within 7 days.
