The lifeboat bowsing tackle was not arranged correctly in the forward part of the starboard lifeboat. If the crew had to abandon ship this tackle arrangement would have failed. In addition the inspection of the bowsing tackle is not listed in the ship's check list to be inspected monthly. All bowsing tackle needs to be inspected for proper operations.
