The container shall be marked with serial number, number of persons it is permitted to carry, when last serviced, length of painter. Any required fixed fire detection and fire alarms system with manually operated call points shall be capable of immediate operation at all times. PSCO observed several smoke and flame detectors to be covered with either rags or plastic coverings rendering them unable to operate as intended. The angular position of the rudder shall: if the main steering gear is power operated, be indicated on the navigation bridge. PSCO observed the 360 degree rudder angle indicator to show 29 degrees starboard when rudder was actually 35 degrees starboard.
