Before the ship leaves port and at all times during the voyage, all life-saving appliances shall be in working order and ready for immediate use. The free fall lifeboat steering was found inoperable, not properly turning in either direction. Also, upon using the emergency tiller, the steering was sluggish. Maintenance and tests were conducted on 07JUN18.

Vessel's incinerator was found to have the internal refractory material showing signs of wastage, both inside the incinerator and on the incinerator door. 74SOLAS ('04 Cons Ed) Ch II-1 Reg 26.1

Resolution: Vessel sent in pictures, of both before and after repairs made to the refractory material of the incinerator. Vessel made appropriate repairs to the material inside the incinerator and on the interior part of the door.
