The Coast Guard recorded this vessel and the following in the same
inspection activity — normally a tug and the barges in its tow. A recreational or
unclassed hull in the same activity is held and not published, so it does not appear
here: these lists are a floor, not a complete manifest.
Scantlings, material, and workmanship, subdivision of cargo spaces, fitting of cofferdams, and testing of tanks shall be at least equivalent to the requirements of the American Bureau of Shipping or other recognized classification society. Self reported small fracture on cargo tank top. Barge will transit empty to MSU Huntington's Zone to clean, gas free and repair to the satisfaction of MSU Huntington attending MI.

Resolution: MI attended vessel and witnessed satisfactory reapir of cargo tank top insert and satisfactory pneumatic air test NDT.
The emergency manual shutdown station is located at the bow, and not at the midpoint of the barge or 100 feet from the engine. This violates 46CFR32.50-35(a). A new manual shutdown needs to be installed at the midpoint or 100 feet from the engine.
