Welded clevis and did not inform [name withheld] a repair proposal to the satisfaction of attending inspector or replace steering cylinder to approved system. Prior to carrying passengers a sea trail must be conducted in the presence of a Marin Inspector. 46 CFR 169.235(a)

Observed cracked welds (both reinforcement brackets against the transom) and tiller pin on the steering system. Vessel shall provide a repair plan and complete repairs as per approved plan.
