A vessel of at least 7.9 meters (26 feet) in length must be provided with individual bilge lines and bilge suctions for each watertight compartment. Port fixed bilge aluminum piping found corroded and wasted with open holes in voids 2 and 3. Piping requires crop, repair and renewal to (03) areas identified during inspection. Vessel requires an operational test of the port fixed bilge system. Passenger count shall be reduced to 49 or less until new piping is installed due to presence of electric submersible bilge pumps installed in all compartments. 46 CFR 182.510(a)

Whenever damage or deterioration to hull plating or structural members that may affect the seaworthiness of a vessel is discovered or suspected, the cognizant OCMI may conduct an internal structural examination in any affected space including fuel tanks, and may require the vessel to be drydocked or taken out of service to assess the extent of the damage, and to effect permanent repairs. Full penetration corrosion discovered at port side exhaust discharge on weld seam. A temporary weld repair is authorized. Permanent repairs are to be made at next scheduled drydocking.
