Bulk carriers shall comply with the maintenance requirements provided in the standards for owner’s inspection and maintenance of bulk carrier hatch covers adopted by the organization by resolution MSC.169 (79). PSCO noted deficient maintenance items such as cleat gaskets frozen, hydraulic leak in the forward No. 2 cargo hold, and sealing arrangements of cargo hold No. 3.

PSCO noted flammable liquids in the BOSN locker were not properly stowed in a space protected by a fixed extinguishing system. Vsl propulsion propeller has two bent blades. # 1 the bent in way of the tip, over 130 mm. Blade # 5 bent over approx 400 mm x 300 mm along trailing edge. Repair the following to the satisfaction of the issuing authority of the Safety Construction Cert. Condition of class was issued, by ABS.

Resolution: Dive Solutions performed an inspection of the propellor. No damage noticed or stress cracks. Propellor in good condition. [name withheld] states that the blades are straight, no mechanical damage noticed, or stress cracks.
