THE PURPOSE OF THIS REGULATION IS TO MAINTAIN AND MONITOR THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE FIRE SAFETY MEASURES THE SHIP IS PROVIDED WITH. FOR THIS PURPOSE, THE FOLLOWING FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS SHALL BE MET: FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEMS AND FIRE FIGHTING SYSTEMS AND APPLIANCES SHALL BE MAINTAINED READY FOR USE. ; THE ACTIVIATION BOTTLES FOR THE CO2 SYSTEM ARE INSTALLED WITHIN A LOCKED BOX, TO WHICH, THE SHIP'S PERSONNEL COULD NOT PRODUCE THE KEY TO UNLOCK FOR ACCESS TO THE ACTIVATION BOTTLE. Resolution: Attend the vessel and cleared the deficiency issued on 29MAR2016. Nozzels were found to contain mud from the river and which prevented adequate water coverage. Witness operation of the deck spray using fresh water. All Sat.
