The company and ship shall comply with the requirements of the International Safety Management Code. The vessel's SMS requires an hourly inspection of the cargo pump room during cargo operations. During on of the inspections the watchstander reported that the #1 cargo pump was leaking. Per the manufacturer's instructions, upon discovery of a leak the pump is to be stopped and an investigation done to determine cause. Although a leak was reported, the pump was not shutdown and continued to be used for cargo ops. Recommend ISM audit be conducted. 74SOLAS(14) IX/3.1
