The rescue boat engine starting aids shall start the engine within 2 minutes of commencing the start procedures. The crew was unable to start the engine after attempting to start for more than 1 hour. SOLAS 74 (97 Cons) III/47.1.1 70A Crew was able to start engine the next day but attending PSCO called for Class attendance to confirm repair.

Resolution: Received class report attesting repairs were made to the engine and the rescue boat and the engine starts to Class satisfaction.
