During 'New to Zone' inspection: Inside engineroom, on port side hull, the 2nd transverse wood frame aft of the forward engineroom watertight bulkhead (located directly behind the E/R door entrance): this frame was found cracked in 2 places, in way of the 2 fasteners just above the gusset. See MISLE activity for picture/location of cracked frame. Before repairs are conducted, the owner shall contact the local USCG OCMI and submit a repair plan proposal for acceptance. Until this deficiency is cleared, the vessel is restricted to a river's route not more than 1000' from shore, or must be completed before 01 DEC 2024: whichever comes first.

Fuel shutoff valves shall be installed so as to close against the fuel flow, fitted in the fuel supply lines one at the tank connection and one at the engine end of the fuel line to stop fuel flow when servicing accessories. During the inspection port and starboard fuel tank remote shut off vale(s) were seized/inoperable and unable to be secured from the remote pull station. Vessel owner/operator shall provide an alternative procedure to keep main fuel tanks secured while u/w carrying passengers and just run on the day tank until permanent repairs are made. Submit the above plan upon receipt of this report. Within 14 days provide photographic documentation for our records attesting to adequate repairs rendering both remote operated fuel shut off vales fully operational & free of binding.
